About Babadoodle.com
Babadoodle.com was originally started as a free printable website for parents and kids. However, it soon became clear that there was a need for adult coloring pages, so we started adding those too.
Our goal is to provide free high quality, well designed printables – not the usual pixelated clip-art seen on other sites. It is our hope that we can continue to keep the site free by including ads and an Amazon store.
Who is Babadoodle.com?
Babadoodle is just me, Lesley Taylor – and an ever growing social network. With a background in web design, I’ve launched several editorial, web-based businesses (yes, blogs), and recently sold my previous site, BestAppsForKids.com. (Not bought by Google, so not enough to retire, but enough to start this business.)
However, web design is only part of the story. (I’ve designed many things including fashion, textiles, kids t-shirts, and even dog t-shirts.) I am mostly inspired by the intersection of creativity, health, and technology to promote individual well-being and social good. This is what has driven me to grow this site into an adult coloring page resource. It is also part of the inspiration to return to school to study psychology. On the most basic level, I hope these coloring pages are fun and relaxing. On a deeper level, I hope this site can provide creative resources that help people deal with a variety of emotional stresses from the day-to-day to more severe.
I have always been interested in art as therapy, but honestly did not think that included coloring. I was wrong, and while coloring isn’t art therapy, it is both creative and therapeutic. As I started researching adult coloring, I was inspired by the many therapeutic uses ways in which it was being used, both on an individual level and in healthcare. For example, a cancer center in Dallas is using coloring as a way for patients to relax during chemotherapy, and mandala coloring is being used in mental health group therapy, closer to me in California. These are just two examples of coloring pages being used in a therapeutic setting.
I am excited to see how this site grows and welcome any questions or suggestions. In the meantime, keep calm and color on!
